Management accounting is a field dedicated to aiding managerial decision-making processes, strategic planning, and performance monitoring mechanisms. Professionals in this field leverage their skills in financial reporting and control to guide management teams in crafting and executing an organization’s strategy. They do this by providing relevant financial data and managing related accounting tasks.

This course aims to familiarize students with the essential principles of accounting that form the backbone of financial operations and encourage effective and sustainable decision-making in any enterprise. Through theoretical study and practical application, students will gain insights into a variety of financial and management accounting techniques.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be equipped to support senior team members in the creation and evaluation of budgets, the preparation of straightforward financial statements, and the use of financial ratios for performance interpretation. Additionally, students will delve into broader facets of accountancy, such as ethics, transparency, and sustainability. This foundational knowledge and skill set will pave the way for their advancement to more advanced levels of study.

By the end of this course a student will be able to:

  1. Examine the context and purpose of accounting.
  2. Prepare basic financial statements for unincorporated and small business
    organisations in accordance with accounting principles, conventions and
    standards.
  3. Interpret financial statements.
  4. Prepare budgets for planning, control and decision making using spreadsheets.

This course is designed to be as accessible as possible. There are no formal prerequisites or qualifications required to enroll. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • As the course is conducted entirely in English, we recommend that learners have a good grasp of the English language, both written and spoken, to gain maximum benefit.
  • Since this is an online course, you’ll need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access. Familiarity with basic computer skills would be advantageous.
  • While you can learn at your own pace, dedicating consistent time to the course will help you understand and retain the material better.

Registration process:

  • Based on course settings, students might be requested to fill in an application (online) and provide us with correct information about themselves before being able to proceed with the course.
  • We will contact you by email if we need more details after submitting your application.
  • After approval, you can proceed with payment and start the course.

Materials are organized under different lessons. The lessons consist of self-study contents including reading-texts, practical activity, assignment and quizzes in which students can engage and learn.

The course has supervisors and instructors; they are available online to support students by answering their questions or explain different topics to them. This will be managed under discussion section, forums, direct contact or by online meetings.

Next Gates Certificate

After completing the course, students will be issued a digital certificate for free. Additionally, if students wish to receive a printed and sealed copy, they may contact us and request it for an additional fee. Students will be responsible for any notary or apostille authentication fees when needed.
