Effective managers don’t rely on assumptions — they use evidence that is credible, decision-ready and transparent about limitations. Whether improving customer experience, reducing operational waste, strengthening employee engagement or assessing a market opportunity, organisations depend on research-led insights to choose actions with confidence.
This course develops the learner’s ability to plan and complete a small-scale business research project that produces robust insights for a defined business issue. Unlike Level 4 project that focus primarily on delivery planning and basic evidence gathering, this Level 5 course focuses on research quality and judgement: synthesising relevant sources, building a defensible conceptual lens, selecting and justifying an appropriate methodology, collecting and analysing evidence rigorously, and evaluating how limitations affect confidence in conclusions.
Learners will produce a professional research report and a supporting evidence pack that demonstrates independence, critical evaluation and ethical research practice. By the end of this course, learners can explain not only what they found and recommend, but how reliable the evidence is and why the chosen approach is appropriate.
