This course equips students with essential skills in database design and development, crucial for supporting organizational operations and leveraging e-commerce growth. It addresses the increasing complexity of database systems and the extensive data management needs of organizations, whether stored on-site or in the cloud.

Students will learn to design, develop, and manage complex database systems, gaining practical skills in relational database creation, system testing, and documentation. The curriculum includes an introduction to relational databases, their tools and techniques, and a brief overview of object-oriented databases, preparing students to develop solutions for substantial problems.

By the end of this course a student will be able to:

  1. Use an appropriate design tool to design a relational database system for a substantial problem.
  2. Develop a fully functional relational database system, based on an existing system design.
  3. Test the system against user and system requirements.
  4. Produce technical and user documentation.

For students who have recently been in education, the entry profile is likely to include one of the following:

Students must be over 18 years of age.
A Level 3 qualification in Business or an international equivalent.

The qualification is wholly in English language. Students should demonstrate capability in English at a standard equivalent to one of the identified levels below:

Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2
PTE 51
IELTS 5.5; Reading and Writing must be at 5.5
or equivalent.

  • After approval, you can proceed with payment and start the course.

Materials are organized under different lessons. The lessons consist of self-study contents including reading-texts, practical activity, assignment and quizzes in which students can engage and learn.

The course has supervisors and instructors; they are available online to support students by answering their questions or explain different topics to them. This will be managed under discussion section, forums, direct contact or by online meetings.

Next Gates Certificate

After completing the course, students will be issued a digital certificate for free. Additionally, if students wish to receive a printed and sealed copy, they may contact us and request it for an additional fee. Students will be responsible for any notary or apostille authentication fees when needed.
